The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the market.

If you know anything about me, then you know my love and devotion to ALL Minnesota sports teams from the Vikings, Lynx, to Golden Gophers to UMD Bulldogs is as hard core and dedicated as any somewhat sane person there is! Being a super fan has allowed me to be super critical because my teams are worthy of winning national championships (Lynx have multiple WNBA championships!) and the opinion the best General Managers/Owners are former players.  According to Scott Soshnick of Sportico, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has retained The Raine Group to open the process of selling the franchise. Offers have already been made, and a sale could take place within the next month.

The report states that Taylor is asking at least $1.2 billion for the team. He has sought to avoid a public bidding process and wants to quietly find a buyer without any sort of media or corporate frenzy.

Taylor has been the majority owner of the Timberwolves since 1994. Though once a contender, they have made the playoffs just once since the 2003-04 season. Enter one of the greatest ball players ever, Kevin “KG” Garnett!

KG spent his first few years as a Timberwolf and was by far, next to Poo Richardson, one of the best to put the jersey on. KG had a falling out with Taylor over Taylor’s promise of ownership and his failing to do so. KG, so disgusted with the lies of Taylor, refused to allow his jersey to be retired. Now that the team is up for sale, we may see the first player owner in the games history! KG has posted via his Facebook page that he has a great interest in owning a piece of the franchise

My passion for the Minnesota Timberwolves to be a championship team is
well known but I have a deeper affection for the city of Minneapolis. I once again want to see Minneapolis as the diverse and loving community that I know it is. No two people love the city more than myself and Glen Taylor and I look forward to trying to work with him to achieve my dream.

This would be so dope to have the “Uncut Gems” star as part owner and member of the teams Hall of Fame! It is my hopes that this happens and happens quickly!
