Vin Diesel Suits Up as Riddick in Upcoming Chronicles Sequel
Sometimes it pays to follow your favorite celebrity on social networking websites. Vin Diesel has used his personal Facebook page to reveal storyline and concept art used in the making of the sequel to 2004's Chronicles of Riddick. Diesel recently updated his Facebook account with an image of himself suited up as Riddick, wearing the character's trademark goggles and a part of the "Necro-armor" seen in the previous installation of the franchise. Riddick 3 (working title) was written and is being directed by David Twohy, who also directed the Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. The early confirmed cast includes Diesel and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), who will play Dahl, a Nordic mercenary on the hunt for Riddick. Jordi Mollà (Colombiana, Knight and Day) is in talks to play a "machete-wielding enforcer" named Santana, and the script includes Vaako, which could mean the return of Karl Urban. Riddick 3 is being financed independently, meaning there won't be as much over-the-top effects and action as with Chronicles, but a return to the more rough and simple feel like with Pitch Black.
