NBA’s Kevin Love Takes on a Sumo Wrestler for ESPN’s Sports Science
ESPN's Sports Science has finally made science an interesting topic by tossing today's best athletes in a variety of situations to test their abilities. Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love recently became a guinea pig for the show in an attempt to scientifically explain how he dominates the NBA as one of today's top rebounders. Love's technique to grab such a high number of boards relies on his ability to box opponents out away from the rim. To test how much force he's generating, Sports Science recruited a 350lb sumo wrestler to go up against Love in the paint. Love generated so much force in the paint that he made short work of the sumo during the test. Now, I actually feel sorry for opposing players of the Timberwolves this season!
