Motorola Xoom 2
The first Motorola Xoom 2 was touted as an iPad killer but once it hit the market I could not hold it's own against the big boys. However the Motorola Xoom 2 plans to remove the sour taste that the first edition put in the mouths of many consumers. Two new Xoom models were unveiled recently; a 10.1" version which is a sequel to the original Xoom in addition a model with an 8.2" display which has been dubbed the Xoom 2 Media Edition.
The Xoom 2 isn't exactly a huge overhaul from the original, the only differences are a slightly better processor and the addition of 3D virtual sourround sound. The casing has also been scaled down to a lighter and leaner version. Both of the new Xoom models are powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor with 1GB RAM running on the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS. Both feature a 5 megapixel rear and front facing HD camera with digital zoom digital zoom, autofocus & LED flash and a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calling. The Media Edition tablet allows the user to control their home cinema experience through a pre-installed app as well. The Motorola Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 media edition will be available mid-November in UK and Ireland. Additional release dates are expected to be announced soon.
