‘Max Payne 3′ Coming in 2012
Rockstar and publisher Take-Two Interactive announced this morning that the much delayed Max Payne 3 will finally find its way to consoles and PC in the spring of 2012. MP3 was originally planned as a 2009 release and was three times delayed.
The new storyline goes like this: The new Max Payne 3 game take place 8 years after Max Payne 2. The titular NYC detective is in Sao Paulo, Brazil, working private security for a wealthy industrialist and his family. His cushy new job goes awry when gangs begin targeting the family, and Max is forced to once again work his bullet-time magic. The main storyline will revolve around Payne’s fall from grace as a vengeful cop to the addicted and broken man that he has become.
The first two Max Payne games were very innovative with it's "bullet time" gameplay that allowed you to temporarily slow down time as you blasted your enemies (i.e. the Matrix).Rockstar didn't provide specifics, but it stated that "Along with traditional multiplayer modes, Max Payne 3 will also include a deep reward and leveling system, persistent clans, and multiple strategic load-out options."
