Jay-Z Makes ‘Brooklyn Nets’ Official For 2012 Season
As most of the sports world was anticipating, hip-hop mogul and business man extraordinaire Jay-Z has announced the name change of the New Jersey Nets to the Brooklyn Nets. "I am absolutely humbled," said Jay-Z, who looked resplendent in a dark suit. "I appreciate all the support from Brooklyn," Jay-Z said, "because without Brooklyn, I wouldn't be standing here, humbled."
Jigga also announced that the arena will open in September 2012 with a series of eight concerts by him before the opening tipoff of the Brooklyn Nets season.
The Rocawear co-founder will also take part in designing the new Nets uniforms for the upcoming season. Jay is working with Nets brass and Adidas to design uniforms for the team as well. The trio will also iron out a logo for the Brooklyn Nets and decide what colors their uniforms should be. The logo will feature Brooklyn prominently because the club wants to tap into the borough’s world-popular brand name, officials said.
I must say, this is a pretty big year for Hov.
