Everything is a Remix: The Matrix

Everything Is A Remix: The Matrix is an excellent rundown of the film and literature references in The Matrix. Kirby Ferguson, Rob G. Wilson and Cynthia Closkey, the creative minds behind the project, return with the fourth installment of the Everything is a Remix series.  In this installment, the crew set their sights on the cultural, literary and cinema references sprinkled throughout the The Matrix.

This is an amazing video as I have personally seen the majority of the movies referenced and I've never linked them to each other. You can see where certain scenes of the Matrix, even the famous opening numbers sequence, were taken from classic anime movies such as Ghost in the Shell (1995) and Akira (1988). Also, you can see influence from hard-core action flicks like The Killer (1989) and classic kung-fu films such as Jackie Chan's Drunken Master (1978) and Jet Li's Fist of Legend (1994).
