Dallas Mavericks Win First Ever NBA Championship
The Dallas Mavericks are your 2011 NBA Champions! It was a hard fought series and a return to vintage, nail biting playoff basketball. The final score was 105-95 and the Mavericks closed out a highly competitive series in 6 games. The Mavericks and the Miami Heat played very well throughout the playoffs and especially these NBA Finals. However, Dallas proved that they were more mature, experienced and hungry for the NBA title.
For Dirk Nowitzki, the resume is complete. He's finally an NBA champion and Finals MVP.
For LeBron James, the agonizing wait continues for at least one more year.
You have to ask yourself, where does the Miami Heat go from here? After the debacle of "The Decision" and the bad judgment call on the flashy press conference before the season began, it's very hard to feel sorry for James or the Heat. D. Wade already has a ring, so this cannot be as bitter of a pill to swallow. Chris Bosh could be seen crying on his knees as he exited the floor. This season will surely tarnish Lebron's legacy and his poor play through the finals has raised questions to his path of NBA immortality.
That is something King James and company will have to ponder for the next several months.
Tonight, Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks are the NBA Champions. Congrats!
